Kompis Sverige is a non-profit organization that brings together new and established Swedes. Our vision is a society where everyone participates on equal terms and trusts each other. Through our activities, we give people the opportunity to expand their social network and an opportunity for new Swedes to get functional language training in everyday life.
We match an established Swede with a new Swede based on, among other things, interests, gender, age, and where you live. When we have found a match, you will receive a text message and an email with information about your new buddy and how you can contact each other.
The First Contact
We recommend that you reach out to your buddy as soon as possible so that you can get started and get to know each other. Feel free to talk to each other about how often you are available to meet or have contact. This makes it easier for you both to have similar expectations.
The Journey
We follow you and your buddy during the first six months, and continuously check in on how things are going. If something doesn't feel right, we are happy to give advice and tips. We can also try to find a new match if you wish.
To Be Continued
After six months, 7 out of 10 buddies state that they want to stay in touch with their buddy. Many of those we have brought together over the years have become close friends and continue to be friends many years after we matched them.
The Buddy Program
We match an established Swede with someone who is new in Sweden based on, among other things, age, interests and where you live. When we have found a match, we will send you information about your new buddy and how you can contact each other.
Kompis Sverige offers a big variety of social activities that create opportunities for new and established Swedes to meet. The activities pose a great opportunity for new Swedes to practice their language skills in an everyday setting. They also facilitate an equal exchange of thoughts and experiences between all the participants. Thanks to our generous partners, our activities are always free of charge for everyone.
